THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN – ELBASY, CHAIRMAN OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE PEOPLE OF KAZAKHSTAN
NURSULTAN ABISHEVICH NAZARBAYEV
He was born on July 6, 1940 in the village of Chemolgan, Kaskelen District, Almaty region. In 1967, he graduated from the Highest Technical Educational Institution at the Karaganada Metallurgic Works.
He is a Doctor in Economics, Academician of the National Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, International Academy of Engineering, Russian Federation Academy of Social Sciences, Honorable Professor of the Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University, Honorable Member of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Belarus, Honorable Professor of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
From 1960 through 1969, he worked at the Karaganda Metallurgical Works.
From 1969 through 1973, he was involved in the Party and Komsomol work in Temirtau of the Karaganda region.
From 1973 to 1977, he was a secretary of the party committee at the Karaganda Metallurgic Works.
From 1977 through 1979, he served as secretary, and then second secretary of the Regional Committee of the Party in Karaganda.
From 1979 through 1984, he served as Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.
From 1984 through 1989, he was a Chairman of the Ministers Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
From 1989 through 1991, he served as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. From February to April 1990, he concurrently served as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
Since April 1990, he is a President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On December 1, 1991 the first national presidential elections were held where Nursultan Nazarbayev had been supported by 98.7 percent of electors.
On April 29, 1995 the powers of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev have been prolonged till 2000 as a result of the national referendum.
On January 10, 1999 he was elected the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the alternative basis with 79.78 per cent of electors.
On December 4, 2005 he was again elected President of the Republic of Kazakhstan supported by 91.15 per cent of electors.
On June 14, 2010 the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.289-IV “On Introduction of Amendments and Supplements to Certain Constitutional Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Improvement of the Legislation in the Field of Ensuring the Activity of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation” came into force.
On April 3, 2011 he was again elected President of the Republic of Kazakhstan supported by 95.5 per cent of electors.

Spouse – Sara Alpysovna Nazarbayeva, since February 1992 – the founder and the president of the “Bobek” International Children Charitable Fund. Since July 1994, S.Nazarbayeva is the president of the “SOS – Children’s Villages Kazakhstan”.
The President has three daughters.
Dariga N. Nazarbayeva (born in 1963), the eldest daughter. Ph. D. in Political Science. Deputy of the Senate, the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Chairman of the Senate, the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Dinara N. Kulibayeva (born in 1967) is the middle daughter. She has a son and two daughters. Since 2004, she chairs the Board of Directors of the Kazakh-British Technical University.
Aliya N. Nazarbayeva (born in 1980) is the youngest daughter. She has a son and two daughters. Aliya chairs the “Elitstroy” Construction Company.
Azilkhanov Marat Almasuly
By the decree of the Head of State, Azilkhanov Marat Almasuly was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Head of State.
Marat Azilkhanov was born in 1965, in Kyzylorda region. In 1988 he graduated from the Karaganda State Medical University, in 2000 – he completed the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a degree in “Jurisprudence”.
From 1988 to 1992 he was a surgeon in medical institutions of Kyzylorda city;
From 1992 to 2011 – he worked at the service of the national security bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
From 2011 to 2013 – he was the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
From 2013 to 2014 – he was the Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
From 2014 to 2016 – he worked as the Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
From 2016 to 2018 – he was the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
From 2018 to 2019 – he worked as the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since 2019 – he was the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kuziev Zakirzhan Pirmukhamedovich He was born on the 30th of January of 1969, in Almaty. He served in the ranks of the Soviet Army in 1988-1990. He began his career in 1990 as the 5th grade carpenter-machine operator at the “Remstroytechnika” association production. In 1991, he transferred to the small industrial and commercial enterprise as an instructor in the installation department. In 1992, he transferred to work at the “Yedinstvo” IHP as a deputy director. In 1996, he was elected as the president of “Universal” JSC. He is a member of “Nur Otan” party since 1999. Since 2005, he is a founder of “Zharkent Starch Factory” LLP. In 2016, he has been elected as a Deputy of the VI - convocation of Almaty Regional Maslikhat, a member of the permanent commission on the issues such as the budget, tariff policy, ensuring the rule of law. Since 2017, he is a member of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
He is an author of over 25 scientific papers.

![]() Bekbaeva Maya Tolegenovna She was born on the 12th of February of 1979 in Semipalatinsk, East Kazakhstan region. She graduated with first class honors from high school, she was an example and pride of the school, participating in numerous regional and republican Olympiads in the Russian language and literature. Maya has decided to choose her future profession since childhood. When she was 12 years old, she began working as a young correspondent for the local newspaper “Pulse of Time”. In 2000, she started to work as a journalist for the first time and then she hosted the news for the “Shahar” TV channel. In 2002 she graduated from the Faculty of International Journalism of KazNU with first class honors. In 2005, Maya became a journalist and editor-in-chief of Almaty TV channel "Tan". In 2009, she hosted a news program on the “Kazakhstan” TV channel until 2011. In 2010, she was the author and presenter of the programs “Status Capital”, “Personal Territory” and hosted an evening news. In 2012, she worked on the Channel 7, was an anchor of the news and programs such as “In other words”, the talk show “There is a Way Out” and “My Story”. In 2016, she was the author and host of the series of documentaries “Secrets. Destiny. Names” on “Khabar” TV channel.
